Molested – “Blood Draum”
Get ready for some insane looking vinyl on this week’s RECORD OF THE WEEK blog!
Formed under the name Purgation. MOLESTED was the first band of Borknagar founder and mastermind Øystein Garnes Brun, which also included former Gorgoroth drummer and author Erlend “Sersjant” Erichsen. THE CRYPT dug deep and is releasing their debut album, both the original 1995 mix and a 2015 remix of the album. If you’re lucky, you can still grab one of the ‘Smoke’ versions!

DECENT CRIMINAL is a band from Santa Rosa, CA founded by drummer Hunter Martinez. After several early line up changes DECENT CRIMINAL became what it is today at the end of 2014. Since then the band has toured across the United States several times, and their second full length, “Bloom” is out now on DODGEBALL RECORDS. “Bloom” is an album that offers something different with every song from a band that adores vocal harmonies, dual guitar leads, strong melodies and honest lyrics…
The walking embodiment of modern New Wave, EVERYONE IS DIRTY embrace the weirdness and blatant love for all things over the top that stem from the parts of rock music that made it fun in the first place. The Oakland based band collaborated on this release with fellow locals OIM RECORDS. They share ideas, music, hugs, vegetables and farm fresh eggs too. Check them on tour right now through Mid-November all over the west coast!
Since forming in 2011, SEAWAY has emerged as one of Toronto’s most significant pop-punk bands to come along. SEAWAY delivers a brand of pop punk that recalls a time when the genre centered on having fun. SEAWAY released their latest album “Vacation” on September 15, 2017. “Vacation” is the follow-up record to SEAWAY’S critically acclaimed 2015 release “Colour Blind” and marks a progression in sound, while still giving listeners the high energy and well-crafted hooks they have come to expect.
“Organ For the Senses” presents four new pieces for organ from US and international composers, avant-garde in their nature, each of which were performed and recorded in their global premieres in Balboa Park at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in June of 2016. The composers are SAMUEL DUNSCOMBE, WEN LIU, CELESTE ORAM, STEVEN FLATO, MICHAEL PISARO, and JOHANNES REGNIER. You can find this over at MARGINAL FREQUENCY, a small batch label operating out of Kitsap County, Washington, releasing and emphasizing music that claims no genre.
