This unearthed live recording captures the level of energy that this band showed each time they hit the stage. Recorded in the spring of 2001, following the release of their debut LP, these iconic songs come through just as people will remember them: fast, loud, and hooky as hell – and always leaving you wanting more. Thankfully, LARS FREDERIKSEN & THE BASTARDS delivered with the follow-up Viking LP. ‘Ultra Clear’ with ‘Black’ Smoke vinyl is available now from PIRATES PRESS RECORDS!
Originally released in 2004 on Hellcat Records, “Viking” was the followup to the LARS FREDERIKSEN & THE BASTARDS (S/T) debut album that brought this Rancid side-project into the limelight. Written by Lars and Tim Armstrong, and mixed by Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion), this album received an overwhelmingly great response from critics and fans alike. Along with a handful of tracks about Campbell, CA and a couple of covers (Shakin’ Stevens / Anti-Nowhere League) “Viking” focused on a more recent period in Lars’ life, and an array of topics that people have come to expect from this prolific song writing duo. This pressing is on 180gram virgin vinyl, and includes an exclusive foil art print insert, lyric sleeve and high gloss cover; and comes on ‘Ultra Clear’ with ‘Black’ Smoke!
Known in the music industry for his independence, ODDISEE consistently debunks the scatterbrained artist myth – doing everything from booking international tours to photography to marketing and promoting himself and even other artists. The prolific MC, producer and musician, ODDISEE’S new album ‘The Iceberg’ is a plea for humanity to dig deeper in search of understanding and common ground. His third release in just 12 months, ‘The Iceberg’ is a distillation of stereotypical tropes in hip-hop and beyond, 12 tracks about money, sex, politics, race and religion that appear superficial until his multi-dimensional lyrics unfurl to expose the complexities of individuality and identity: how we see ourselves and how others see us. Heavy stoner rockers, THE HAZYTONES, founded in 2015 in Montreal. The trio stuns the audience with his stage presence and intensity. Riff after riff, the group is known for his fat sound and heavy destructive saturation. RIPPLE MUSIC brings you their first North American release! The nine-track offering and basking in the bassy groove of “Day of the Dead,” the space-cultistry of centerpiece “Children of the Universe” is coming out on RIPPLE MUSIC!
VOCAL FEW is comprised of singer/songwriter Matt MacDonald and his wife singer/pianist Kristie MacDonald. It started as a side project to help cover the costs of bringing their first daughter into the world, and continued to 4 releases and subsequent intimate “living room” tours across the US & Canada with kids in tow. The “Snowdrift” EP is a seasonal album of original songs about existential crisis, joy, loneliness, snowstorm-induced camaraderie, and holiday-induced religious baggage.
