The Great Heights Band – “rad-pop.”
We’re rolling into another awesome RECORD OF THE WEEK Blog!
THE GREAT HEIGHTS BAND’S sophomore effort, “rad-pop.”, is big and bold. The album was just released on CI RECORDS, and brings together a diverse mix of pop, punk, nerd, and indie rock, with nods to a retro aesthetic and good old fashioned rock and roll. After touring for a couple of years on their debut LP, “Song in Eastern Standard Timing (SEIST)”, the band wanted to follow it up with a record that was fun and eclectic, but also stood out on its own. THE GREAT HEIGHTS BAND is on tour now bouncing between the east and west coast, if you can’t catch them as they come through, make your way to CI RECORDS to get your copy of “rad-pop.” today!

When you are a legendary Oi! band that has been around for 20 years, how do you shake things up and stay fresh? You add LARS FREDERIKSEN from RANCID to your lineup! “Althergebracht” (German for “Traditional”) is the latest from the German powerhouse and many believe it is their best record yet! 20+ years into their career and the best has yet to come. Grab an ‘Ultra Clear’ with ‘Black’ Smoke and ‘Red’ splatter copy from PIRATES PRESS RECORDS!
SHANE ENHOLM wrote the majority of the songs on this album while doing prison time for robbing banks (25 banks total). In the eighties, SHANE cut his teeth as the guitarist for L.A. Punk band The Flower Leperds, but many think none of his previous work measures up to the quirky, autobiographical brilliance of the song writing on this album. You can get “Divine American Pariah” on OUTRO RECORDS now!
THE STONEWALL VESSELS started in late 2011 as an acoustic trio. The band soon developed their sound into a 5 piece full-electric band. The band takes influence from a very diverse group of artists ranging from modern rock bands like Circa Survive to 90s Hip Hop/R&B artists including Biggie Smalls and Erykah Badu. This diverse range of influences gives THE STONEWALL VESSELS a unique yet relatable sound. “Through The Weird & Wild” was written over the span of 4 years. The album captures the emotions of struggle, self reflection and sacrifices made, and is available now!
