Territories – Self-Titled LP & Picture Flexi Album Set
Another killer RECORD OF THE WEEK Blog to kick the weekend off to!!!
Sometimes, you are lucky enough to come across an album that is so truly impactful and it grabs you on the first listen. TERRITORIES’ self-titled debut record on PIRATES PRESS RECORDS accomplishes just that. With an album this special, it had to get a historical, never-before-seen release. This record has been released completely on individual picture flexis! This is HISTORY. There is an accompanying lyric video for each track built using elements of the flexi artwork, produced by Chris Curtis (Green Day, Dropkick Murphys). Not to forget the vinyl, you can keep it simple with “Swamp Green” or the classic “Black,” there are also the ‘Gold’, ’Silver’, & ‘White’ Tri-Color Blend or the ‘Beer’ w/ ‘Black Smoke’ & ‘White’ Splatter Vinyl available from PIRATES PRESS RECORDS as well!

Formed around 2010 in the Bay Area featuring the Bay Area’s foremost slinger of Navajo Tacos, Rocky Yazzie, TURQOUIZ NOIZ has become a factory of blown out ear worm tracks that tumble into a chaotic live show. The band had gone through several line up changes/name changes/moves but is now enjoying a stint of stability to churn out some more records. Their second album, “Pray for Rain” is the sound of bootleg shades covering blurry eyes, the music playing as you pick up a hitchhiker who’s still tripping from the night before. You can only get this from RELATED RECORDS, the limited run specialist who never make more than 500 copies, so hurry!!
Coming to a town near you this fall, DEATH VALLEY GIRLS are back with ‘Darkness Rains’, their latest album out now on SUICIDE SQUEEZE! At their core, vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Bonnie Bloomgarden and guitarist Larry Schemel are DEATH VALLEY GIRLS, with their relentless touring schedule the remainder of the group is rounded out by whichever like-minded compatriots can get in the van. Go check out their latest video staring none other than Iggy Pop!
The sound of CONTACT FIELD ORCHESTRA is like something out of a Jim Jarmusch film, reminiscent of an old Library of Congress or Folkways recording. The music itself is full of opposites — hypnotizing and odd; meditative and jarring. It’s strangely familiar, but also distantly unrecognizable. Some songs are more minimalist in their approach, building up a rhythm with mbiras and percussion, while others seem to have much more harmony and tonal structure and almost Blues/Country feel. Curated from found recordings, this is truly a piece of Americana history. Get your copy from HIT + RUN, the originators of live silkscreening events!
THE TIME SELLERS are a young, working class group from Chesterfield England and have been playing music together for 4 years. “ Good Times” is the band’s second release on OUTRO RECORDS. The 6 song, 12″ E.P. includes two songs (Good Times and Another Summer) which are receiving regular rotation airplay on BBC Radio as well as several College radio stations in the U.S. GO check them out at a few select UK shows in September!
See y’all again next week!
