NOi!SE – “Mass Apathy”
Another crazy project topping our RECORD OF THE WEEK Blog!!!
It seems like every day now we as a nation are faced with another senseless act of shooting and lives are lost. True to their punk roots, NOi!SE tackles these issues of senseless violence head-on, and more specifically here with the issue of gun violence and school shootings, in a very powerful, non-political way along with the help of SKINHEAD ROB (The Transplants). To create the attention that is needed and deserved, the record has a ring of bullets milled out with the audio cut inside the ring. The B-side and the clear poly sleeve are both silkscreened, with the poly bag containing lyrics that drive the point home. NOi!SE and PIRATES PRESS RECORDS are CURRENTLY TAKING NOMINATIONS HERE for anti-gun violence charities and will then allow the public to vote for which charities will receive the proceeds from the sales of this record. You can stream it now via SPOTIFY or APPLE MUSIC and get it from your local record store on Black Friday to support a great cause!

LEFT AT LONDON (sometimes stylized and shortened as /@/), is the stage name of Nat Puff (she/her), a trans woman from Seattle, Washington who is not afraid to let herself be known intimately through her music, while still remaining accessible. Although LEFT AT LONDON mostly is known for her pop writing sensibility, she is mostly known for her deeply personal and introspective lyricism. Despite some of the songs subject matters being very specific to her life as a trans woman with autism, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, and PTSD, her songwriting style takes these concepts and makes them into something that’s uniquely abstract while still remaining relatable and honest. You can get the heart shaped EP at their bandcamp page if you hurry!
Rounding out the rerelease series, RELAPSE just dropped “Death Is This Communion” – the fourth studio album by HIGH ON FIRE. Originally released September 2007 – It is the first album to feature Jeff Matz on bass guitar. It can also be noted that the album’s lyrics were influenced by David Icke, H.P. Lovecraft, and the Bible. Head over to the masters of metal, RELAPSE RECORDS, to grab one today!
