Can’t believe it’s Friday already!! Over 30 palettes of records came in this week, which means a pretty hefty blog for all of you vinyl-fanatics out there! For the position of RECORD OF THE WEEK, we had to toot our own horn this time around with the release of HARRINGTON SAINTS’ new LP, “Pride and Tradition”, out now on PIRATES PRESS RECORDS!

Hailing from the Bay Area, HARRINGTON SAINTS’ second full-length contains 11 brand new tracks of blistering street-punk that will have you singing right away! Produced by Lars Frederiksen (Rancid, Old Firm Casuals), the boys really outdid themselves with this one and they managed to capture the intensity of their live shows with a raw but organic sound…Gotta love it! Frontman Darrel Wojick was one of the original Pirates, so the guys have been great friends of ours for a long time now…Big props to the boys for an impressive and inspiring sophomore full-length!

While the entire music industry seems to be off at SXSW partyin’ hard, we are here in the offices grinding it out as usual!! With an insane 43 pallet shipment having come in this week, we have quite the blog for you guys this time around!! Starting it off this week is a momentous release for us here at Pirates Press, and it still seems pretty surreal.….Check out this brand new split 7” between COCK SPARRER and RANCID!!

Releasing this record is one of Pirates Press Records’ proudest moments, made to commemorate what for many of us is a dream lineup – Cock Sparrer & Rancid on one stage – both celebrating huge milestones in their careers – Rancid with their 20th Anniversary as a band, and Sparrer with their 40th!! Yes, that’s right – more years than pretty much any other punk band out there!! This release is a GREAT tribute to that – pairing two very poignant songs, each focused on the bands’ hometown. Classy, Classic. Legendary & Limited. Good luck getting your hands on one of these…

The fist honorable mention this week is a pretty crazy new record from the almighty CHUCK RAGAN! Featuring a 7” worth of music, this new die-cut record features a combination of California State, Buzzsaw, and Hammer shapes! Chuck and SIDE ONE DUMMY really went all out on this one, and it totally worked!! These look fantastic, so make sure to pick one up on the Revival Tour in a town near you!

The latest 7” from MATH the Band is quite the colorful release! We also did the CD version, as well as a rad sticker for this overall package…The electro-punk spazz duo from Providence, RI seem to be on the rise and catching everyone’s attention, and I’m sure their fans will love these latest offerings!! This week was one of those weeks where it was almost impossible to decide what to crown the RECORD OF THE WEEK! So much amazing vinyl coming through here it’s overwhelming! However, we had to give it up to ANDREW BIRD this time around…Just look at this boxset! It’s wrapped in fabric, foil stamped with two colors, debossed and handnumbered! If that wasn’t enough for you, this beast includes a sheet of collectable postage stamps, super slick stationary, fold out posters, and colored innersleeves…The best part? The poster, stationary, and lyric booklet were all printed on 100% recycled stock!! Good lord, this is one impressive release. Congratulations to Andrew Bird and Mom + Pop Music on all their success, and make sure to catch him on the Colbert Report on March 13th!!
