Another crazy week has passed here at Pirates Press, and we’re here to bring you another vinyl-packed RECORD OF THE WEEK blog! Starting it off this week is not one record, but ALL FIVE releases of BLIND PIGS’ 20 year discography, in 10″ format! If you haven’t heard of BLIND PIGS (Porcos Cegos), they’re a super awesome punk band from Brazil who decided that their back-catalog needed a proper reissuing in honor of their 20th Year Anniversary Tour! Heart Bleeds Blue Records and Zona Punk did an amazing job with these beauties, and the colored vinyl choices are spot-on! Kudos to a fantastic looking catalog, guys!!

The first honorable mention this week is a killer new release from San Francisco’s GLITZ, courtesy of Grazer Records! GLITZ’s blend of power-pop and punk is accompanied nicely by this awesome gloss varnish triple pantone jacket! Definitely an awesome release, both the music and the packaging! Don’t sleep on this one…

If you are/were a fan of hardcore in the early 2000s, you’ll undoubtedly remember NO WARNING’s amazing full length, “Ill Blood”. That being said, we were super stoked to be able to press this piece of wax for Bridge 9 Records on the only acceptable (and obvious) choice… Transparent ‘Blood Red’ vinyl! Time to mosh, kids…

Next up is a brand new split 7″ between AMERICAN VERSE and THE TIRED AND TRUE. Get a load of those insane colored vinyl configurations! The ‘Oxblood’ / ‘Beer’ Half-n-Half vinyl w/ Black Splatter looks amazing, as does the ‘Coke Bottle Green’ / ‘Grey’ Half-n-Half w/ Baby Blue Splatter! Those reverse board gatefold jackets top it off nicely as well…. Now THAT’s a 7″ record!!

Struggletown Records and Broken Arrow Collective did a great job with this new split 7″ between LAST CALL and WOLVES AT HEART. It’s always rad to see two solid colored vinyl configurations, and then a combination of those two! Case in point: the ‘Grimace Purple’ and White’, and then the ‘Ultra Clear’ w/ Grimace Purple and White Splatter! Definitely fitting choices to match up with the album cover and packaging. Keep it up, dudes!!

ROBOTIC EMPIRE went ALL out on this one, pretty much doing every colored vinyl configuration under the sun. When you have Tri-Color, AsideBside, Striped, Splattered, and Swatched vinyl, what else do you really need? The answer: NOTHING.
