Wow, what a week we’ve had, recovering from our 10th Anniversary Party (hopefully you were there) and also bringing you another rockin’ round of RECORD OF THE WEEK. Here you go!

Goleta’s own iconic and world renown punk rock mainstays LAGWAGON are back and better than ever with first album in 9 years, ‘Hang’!!! Even better, LAGWAGON is about to head out on a 5 week tour staring early next month. With a darker feel more reminiscent of their earlier albums, FAT WRECK CHORDS made sure that this release would satisfy the fan’s 9 year wait, and did it in spades. With so many variations, where do we begin? Of course there is a ‘Black’ vinyl version, then there is the ‘Orange Crush’ and ‘Black’ stripped tricolor version, the ‘Olive Green’ and ‘Sea Blue’ Half-N-Half version (not pictured), the ‘Sea Blue’ and ‘Bone’ Aside/Bside version, or the Fat Store Only version consisting of a’ Bone’ colored record with ‘Dookie Brown’ haze. Oh, did we forget to mention that the deluxe versions come with a bonus 7” with the same color configurations? For the first time ever, DESPERATE RECORDS is making the POWDER MONKEYS’ 1995 album available on Vinyl! This Australian punk/rock trio existed from 1991 until 2003 when a tragic death brought it to a close. In the 90’s, the POWDER MONKEYS were the shining light of raw Rock & Roll in Australia, calling up influences anywhere from the STOOGES to CHUCK BERRY. This album, called ‘Time Wounds All Heals’ is everything you could need. Coming in either a purist ‘Black’ or a’ Blood Red’ colored vinyl and is wrapped in a reverse board jacket, includes a decorative obi strip, download card, liner notes and a poster!

What started as a one man band from Sweden, OFERMOD is now a 5 piece Black/Death Metal powerhouse! This is their latest EP titled ‘Serpents’ Dance’, and follows a long line of EPs and full lengths since their inception in 1996. This 7” has a 6 panel fold over jacket in a matte finish and contains either the purist ‘Black’ vinyl or the crazy ‘Blood Red’ colored vinyl oozing with ‘Black’ splatter, it’s painfully obvious that THE ANJA OFFENSIVE is on the attack! Recorded in the picturesque South Coast of the UK, this debut album from ORANGE YELLOW RED will definitely have your imagination seeing colors. ORANGE YELLOW RED is a mixture of Shoe Gaze and Dreampop, which just happens to be the specialty of SAINT MARIE RECORDS, the label with the vision to put out this masterpiece. With a gatefold jacket in reverse board finish this ‘Doublemint Green’ and ‘Electric Blue’ Aside/Bside record also has ‘Olive Green’ splatter throughout. The blues and greens swirl in a subtle mixture that is hard to describe.
