\u2018The People\u2019s Choice Music\u2019 is the brainchild of Russian conceptual artists VITALY KOMAR and ALEXANDER MELAMID. In the 90s, the duo conducted a series of polls to determine what aspects were liked and disliked in art. With this data, the two constructed \u201cmost wanted\u201d and \u201cmost unwanted\u201d paintings based on the results. Experimental musician DAVE SOLDIER was enlisted to compose a musical extension of the project, resulting in The Most Wanted Song and The Most Unwanted Song. NEEDLEJUICE just released DAVE SOLDIER\u2019S \u201cThe People\u2019s Choice Music\u201d. After being out of print for over two decades the album will be available in 2 fittingly bizarre LP variants: Pretty Ugly and Wally Wheel.<\/p>\n

MATTHEW G. MORGAN brings you the \u201cKitty 7inch\u201d – Songs that were famous 75+ years ago, now re recorded for some hot, succulent, in-ear action! All songs are covers, all authorship of said songs are unknown. Kitty is an Irish song, famously covered by the Pogues on their 1st album Red Roses For Me. Red River Valley is a folk song and a cowboy music standard. It has been covered by everyone from Gene Autry to Connie Francis to Roy Rogers to Woodie Guthrie. It originated sometime around the 1850\\’s, was most likely a Scottish Song, changed to reflect a love ballad written about a valley near the Texas \/ Arkansas border. It was such a standard, Johnny Cash wrote and performed a humorous song entitled “Please Don\\’t Play Red River Valley” for his 1966 album “Everybody Loves a Nut”. And finally, Hangman, an Appalachian Mountain song. It was recorded by Alan Lomax for the Smithsonian Institute around the 1930\u2019s. It will only be physically released on this limited pressing of vinyl and will be up for digital download shortly!<\/p>\n
